Vaccination

The annual vaccination of dogs (and cats and other animals) has been a standard practice for many years, most often in conjunction with the annual checkups.

There is a growing body of evidence pointing to a reduced need for annual vaccination due not only to longer lasting vaccines but also that vaccines, correctly administered (age of animal, sequence of vaccines) appear to remain effective for longer than anticipated. It is also possible that the ongoing administration of vaccines, particularly later in an animal's life may have a detrimental effect on the immune system as a whole, this may contribute to a reduced ability to fight diseases such as cancer.

On this page, we provide links to papers discussing vaccination

You should discuss the vaccination treatment options with your vet before making any decision in regard to continuing / discontinuing regular vaccinations for your animal(s).
